Jay Gordon continues to shake the planet with his onslaught of Electric Voodoo Blues. When you listen to this CD you will see how Gordon has moved the blues forward into the 21st Century, infusing the music with the fire and power of rock while carving out his own place in the music world.

"Blues Venom - No Cure" features songs like "Dockery's Plantation" (for Robert Johnson), "World Blues," "Slow Burn/Biker Mama," "Red-Hot Tempered Woman" and more. There's also a bonus track in honor of the late, great Phillip Walker, "Whisky Women And Fast Cars." Gordon and Walker had previously collaborated on a 1994 CD together entitled Jaywalkin.

Joining Gordon on this CD is Sharon Butcher (bass-vocals); Rich Gordon Lambert (drums); Harlen Spector (Hammond B3 and piano); Mario Ramirez (younger brother of the great Ritchie Valens) on harmonica; and Rich Wenzel (also on Hammond B3). "Blues Venom - No Cure" was created for all Blues-Rock fans everywhere. This may just be one of the most explosive Blues-Rock CDs ever recorded.

Jay Gordon - A Brief Bio

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Gordon grew up in Chicago, the center of the blues world. Throughout his career, Jay Gordon has become famous for his slashing guitar solos, his passionate vocals, and his dedication to the blues. While his inspirations have included Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he does not sound like any of his predecessors and has long had his own distinctive voice. Never interested in merely recreating the past, Jay has moved the blues forward to the 21st century, infusing the music with the fire and power of rock while carving out his own place in the music world.
Gordon was one of 50 guitarists picked by Eric Clapton himself to perform at the 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival. He has played and opened up for many famous artists, such as, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, BB King, Def Leopard, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, and many more.
