Little Jenny & the Blue Beans are a sultry Blues Rock act from Scandinavia. They are four experienced, skilful positive funny and dynamic ladies that just LOVE to improvise and surprise you on their musical jorney. The today lineup resides from 2001 and since then their career has seen them feature at many of the major European Festivals. Little Jenny herself has been the recipient of two of the top Swedish blues awards: the Jan Rosenqvist award in 1998 and the Åmal blues festival award in 2001. She is now considered to be one of Sweden’s greatest blues harmonica players. Little Jenny has a fine blues pedigree having toured and recorded with the likes of Eric Bibb between 1990 and up till today, and has toured Germany dozens of times with MONAC BLUES BAND. Other career highlights include her performing at the Mustique Blues Festival with the English blues diva Dana Gillespie. Alongside Little Jenny, all the band members have years of experience backing a large number of Sweden’s most famous artists and enjoy endorsement from some of Scandinavia’s top industry players. The blue beans has also a strong eager to spread the world of blues to the younger generation. Regularly they are making school concerts and workshops for adolescents. Nighthawk Stomp - Mizz Percy

Mizz Percy started up back in 1983 by the Guitar-player and singer Mats Samuelsson. They come from Gothenburg, Sweden. Mizz Percy took their name from the lyrics of a ZZ-Top song, and decided to spell their name with two Z:s. To accentuate the ZZ Top connection & the kind of music they were playing at that time. Over twenty years later their influences incorporate a much wider range from the Blues scene. Theres really only one thing left that they have in common with ZZ Top, and thats the two Z:s in their name. Mizz Percy have developed their own music and style, which is a Guitar Orientated Power Blues. Over the years, Mizz Percy have played more than 1000 gigs all over Scandinavia & have also played and jammed with such great artists as; Albert Collins, Alan Haynes, Claes Yngström. Alabama Lovesnakes

The Alabama Lovesnakes gives you genuine bluesrocking & beer-drinkin´ music that´ll rock you like a wagon wheel! Claes Nilsson Fredrik Nilsson Henrik Gillgren The Alabama Lovesnakes was formed in 2006 in Karlstad, Sweden, during the recordings of Claes Nilsson's country project "The Wheels". Late nights in the studio provoked an irresistible feeling of the band that just had to come off - the blues. Six years later, the band still consists of the same members, and has logged countless gigs around the country and has been a regular feature of the largest blues festival Åmåls Bluesfest and get attention wherever they are. Crocodile Claes & The Alabama Love Snakes is the guarantor for a heavy rocking blues rock with roots in the southern Värmland real blues swamp. (Tony Berg, PD) The Alabama Lovesnakes have during 2013 several large Swedish festivals booked, eg Mönsterås Blues & Roots, Dusty Roads Tidaholm, Karlskoga Bluesfestival and Kristinehamns Blues Festival. The band is working feverishly during the spring of 2013 with material for two CD releases on their own label Lovebite. A group with an irresistible name: Crocodile Claes and the Alabama Lovesnakes. They performed covers, as well as an original called "Nasty Weather", with flair. (New York Times Reporting from Åmåls Bluesfest 2012) The band members are vocalist and guitarist Claes "Crocodile" Nilsson (1977), bassist Fredrik Nilsson (1974) and drummer Henrik Gillgren (1977). The songs are written by Claes and the band collectively choose the few covers in their repertoire. The band's sound consists of elements from both Chicago and Texas, which together with a Nordic roughness puts a special touch to the band's attitude. Over the years the band has repeatedly appeared on a major blues festival in Sweden and has also played live on the radio several times. In autumn 2012 the band opened for Johnny Winter in their hometown of Karlstad and Johnny Winter's drummer declared "Man, you're gonna hit the really big stages ...." after Alabama Lovesnakes gig. In 2012, the band began a cooperation with the Swedish blues singer and harmonica player Mats Ronander, with several gigs and festivals booked in 2013 with him. In 2012 the band also toured in the Swedish region Dalarna with Mats and the Hammond B3 legend Pierre Swärd, a tour which resulted in further cooperation. Best known for their 1986 global classic rock anthem, The Final Countdown, the Swedish rockers received unanimous praise a heavier bluesy, hip-shaking metal sound.  The new album, Bag of Bones, is produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Stone Cherry, Aerosmith, Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin).  Celebrated blues rock guitarist, Joe Bonamassa, makes a guest appearance on the title track, Bag of Bones.
Europe vocalist Joey Tempest believes that 2009’s Last Look At Eden album was a significant turning point for the band. That album proved to be Europe’s most important record since The Final Countdown.  Now, with the highly anticipated release of Bag of Bones, Tempest says Europe is “ready to do some serious damage.”

StoneRider are a young, classic rock-influenced rock and roll band from Atlanta, Georgia. Since the 2008 release of their critically-acclaimed debut Three Legs of Trouble, they have toured the US twice and opened for the likes of Uriah Heep, Robin Trower, Graveyard and Radio Moscow.
For the 2012 follow-up album, Fountains Left To Wake, the band flexed their studio muscles and crafted a double LP reminiscent of Exile on Main Street with doses of Physical Graffiti - not as a sound-alike, but as a celebration of all StoneRider love about rock and roll. The new album blends a wiser, more robust rock sound with psychedelic rock’n’roll jook-joint boogie.

Vocalist and guitarist Matt Tanner evokes a bit of Humble Pie's Steve Marriott this time around, while maintaining the previous record's guitar nods to Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. Jason Krutzky's drumming is tight and deep in the groove, ebbing and flowing with the bass lines of producer-turned-bandmate Adam McIntyre, whose style blends Ronnie Lane and Duck Dunn with John Paul Jones.

EUROPE - OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY

Formed north of Stockholm in the early 80s, Europe was originally called ‘Force’.  Their initial influences included Thin Lizzy, UFO and the Michael Schenker Group.

To date, Europe has recorded nine studio albums and sold over 15 million records. Their biggest and most well known hit singles include The Final Countdown, Rock The Night, Carrie and Superstitious.

After a hiatus in the 1990's, Europe returned in 2004 with the album Start From The Dark.  Since the new millennium, Europe has released 4 studio albums, 2 live DVD's and toured extensively around the world.
Europe are about to release their 9th album Bag of Bones on Monday 30th April 2012. The new album includes the single Not Supposed To Sing The Blues. The album is produced by Kevin Shirley and features blues rock guitarist, Joe Bonamassa playing guitar on the title track, Bag of Bones.

Talking about blues players outside America it´s hard to leave out Sven Zetterberg, Sweden´s most versatile artist in this field. Being both an excellent singer, guitarist,songwriter and harmonica player extraordinary,he has become a house-hold name all over Scandinavia. Born in Skärblacka on the 28th of March in 1952, Sven took music seriously enough to perform in school at the age of seven.”I didn´t know any real english words and couldn´t actually play any instrument but my grand-mother had bought me an acoustic guitar that I fooled around with trying to mimic Elvis Presley. “The first black performer I heard was Little Richard and he almost drove me crazy with his wild,frantic singing. “In 1964 he first heard Mick Jagger play harmonica and later that year heard Sonny Boy Williamson(Rice Miller) and that got him started. “The Blues activated something in me and it still moves me”. “Harmonica was my main instrument to begin with. I didn´t start playing guitar seriously until I was 24.” The first bluesband, Telge Blues,was formed in 1972 and lasted long enough to make the Phillips record company interested enough to release an album in 1975. Today,many albums later, Sven hasn´t lost interest in performing or recording and two of his albums, “Blues from within” and “Let me get over it” were both nominated for a Grammy in Sweden. Today, unfortunately, the rules been changed so that no blues cd whatsoever can compete with other types of music in Sweden. Sven has never regretted that he left his job as a delivery van driver for the swedish postal service back in 1985 to become a full time musician and is constantly performing and recording. Voodoo Man - Jan Gerfast Blues Band

Jan Gerfast was born in - 54.
He was raised in Osby, a little town in Sweden.
He started to play the blues guitar in the end of the 60s.
Living as a vagabond in the 70s.
Stayed among other places in Paris, France as a street musician
and later on playing in a jazzclub there.
Came home again and started a band called "Blue Night".
This band played experimental rock music.
At this time Jan lived a kind of hippie life in the woods !
In the beginning of the 80s Jan was backing up other swedish artists
live and on records.
In the end of the 80s he formed his blues band and started to play
a lot live in Sweden.
Later on the rest of Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg,
France, Poland etc

Love Her With A Feelin - ANDY WALO

I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden in a household filled with music. My dad, a Navy Captain used to play tons of Big Band era Jazz records.. Benny Goodman, Sidney Bechet, Tommy Dorsey and Louis Armstrong. My mom was totally into Mahalia Jackson, Gospel & Classic Country.. Patsy Cline etc. I was the youngest out of five kids and after my older siblings got older & moved out, they left all their great 60's music behind.. Music I wouldn't normally get exposed to, growing up in the Eighties. So I inherited lots of Rolling Stones, The Who, Donovan, Motown and Beatles! I remember when I was five, I spent nearly everyday at the turntable listening repeatedly to The Beatles 'White Album'.. I couldn't get it through my head how in their later years they were kind of 'spaced out & out of tune' but STILL sounded so good! Four years later I bought a geek classmate's toy-guitar for 50 cents, and with only two strings I eventually figured out a few guitar-melodies. A year later my dad got me my first 'real' guitar (An Acoustic Spanish/Classical guitar with nylon strings) I fell in love right then & there! I was playing in my first band at age 14, we did Beatles and Stones songs note for note. A few years later, Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin became huge influences. After high school I became more curious of Blues and early Rock and Roll, I wanted to know what my heroes were listening to! I watched a friend's video with Albert King one night.. and I knew I had found the Blues.. From that day on I've felt more comfortable with Blues than ANY other music. My raves were Jimmy Reed (still is), Albert Collins, Otis Rush and John Lee Hooker - At eighteen, during my Military enlistment process (All Swedish males between 18 & 34 had to by law, spend about a year in the Military) I had put in a request to my recruiting officer for a position in the elite Paratrooper Regiment.. and yes, I was all-gung-ho & restless for my Army days to begin. However, my enrollment was canceled when I was invited to visit neighboring country Denmark for work which gave me the opportunity to play music full time.. and this really changed my life-path dramatically. Soon after that, I was invited to Sussex, England and later on to Chicago. I guess it may have been decided by 'weird cosmic fate' for me to play guitar in life instead of setting up 'Perimeters on battlefields'. My father had traveled quite a bit during the 'Cold War' when old Soviet Union was lurking at our doorstep, and I've always respected his achievements growing out of humble beginnings, taking his first job as a sailor on Cargo Ships when he was a teenager, and after joining Navy reaching the full rank of Submarine Captain as he chose to stay in deep waters. My Dad actually played a little guitar when being off duty/on leave in those early days. So who knows.. since I continued his 2nd passion Music, Fate may finally have reached full circle now - I was now based in Central Europe and established myself as a full-time musician, living and performing in Denmark and England from 1989-1993 ***************************************************************************** I met Aaron Burton (former bass player with Albert Collins) when they toured Denmark 1992. They saw me perform at a club in Copenhagen, and his drummer Tino Cortes who's now one of my best friends, is the person who actually convinced me to move to Chicago in the spring of -93, I'd been most places in the states as a kid but had no clue I would ever live in Chicago. In Chi-Town I sat in with all the Blues-greats; Buddy Guy, Big Time Sarah and soul singer Otis Clay. And almost right away was asked to go on the road with people I didn't know anything about. I shared tours & stages with Bo Diddley, J.J. Cale, Canned Heat, Koko Taylor, The Ohio Players and classic rock heroes the Blue Oyster Cult, all this during my first years in Chicago! Someone who had heard me play at a Jam kept saying nice stuff about me to the road manager for Junior Wells, I soon auditioned and in 1995, I became the lead guitarist for Blues legend Junior Wells. I spent the next two years touring the world with Junior Wells and our eight-piece band. We played everywhere.. Europe, Japan, every state except Alaska! And really cool shows too.. like the 1996 New Orleans Jazz Festival with Allman Brothers Band and B.B. King. I also played lead-guitar on the last two records Junior made before he passed away from cancer; We recorded Grammy Nominated "Junior Wells Live at Buddy Guy's Legends" (two days after returning from playing twenty nine shows in thirty days in Europe) Junior had pneumonia during the show but still kicked ass!. The second album "Junior Wells - Live Around The World" was recorded live in Europe & Japan and my lead-guitar stood out a little more ** Junior Wells: 1934 - 1998 - God Bless! ***************************************************************************** After Junior Wells died from cancer in 1998, I didn't feel like going back playing clubs & bars in Chicago so I moved to Los Angeles.. I had some family in Long Beach and I've always loved So Cal. I played with some local bands at the beginning for work but I turned down a couple of big offers because I really wanted to start from scratch in Calif. My Trio thing started around 2002.. I wanted to play music that was completely honest & true to my roots and though half of that is Blues, I also wanted to play original songs in the Blues/Rock vein of Free and Led Zeppelin or the Who.. Smog Productions artists: The Wife - Bad Habits - New Release Review

I just received a copy of the newest release, Bad Habits by Swedish band The Wife. This recording is far from what most would term a blues recording but it is quite an interesting recording. The band consists of Natalie Johansson (vocal and harmonica), Kristoffer Johansson (guitars), Marcus Blomqvist (Double bass), Kristofer Fredriksson (drums, harmonica), Rebecca Fransson (violin) and Viktor Bergmann (piano). This is a very beautifully composed recording, primarily acoustic and voice. Natalie Johansson has a haunting voice with for simplicity sake say blends the subtlety of Hope Sandoval and the texture of Neil Young. All 14 tracks are penned by Johansson except The Train which is composed by Natalie and Kristoffer Johansson. This music is sonically soothing but the lyrics are deep, serious and thought provoking. You won't find any screaming guitar solo's on this release, nor will you find the voice of Son House, but if you like quiet poetic music and interesting vocals... this may be the best I've heard in a long time.

About Jimmy Z
Born in Sacramento, California, Jimmy ‘Z’ Zavala has been playing music professionally since the 1970’s. After forming a few of his own bands, he moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and began recording and touring with superstar Rod Stewart. He gained international fame when he played harmonica on the Eurythmics #1 hit ‘Missionary Man.’ Besides touring with the Eurythmics, he has recorded and toured with Tom Petty, Etta James, Jaguares and many others. Though steeped in the Blues, he has become an indispensible session musician, playing on nearly 1000 tunes with artists of all genres, including Dr. Dre, Barry White, Ziggy Marley, Yes, Bon Jovi, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Slash’s Snakepit, Macy Gray, etc.
He has released four CDs of his own material and has recently been recording music for stock libraries and soundtracks for films and radio & TV commercials. He also performs with his own blues band, Jimmy Z and the ZTribe, comprised of many high-profile musicians.
About Slidin’ Slim
Swedish born guitarist Anders Landelius (a.k.a. Slidin’ Slim) grew up listening to Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino and formed his first band at age 12. In the early ‘90s, he discovered American Delta Blues and musicians Son House, Charlie Patton and Robert Johnson and that has been his musical focus since then. Slim has released a number of CD's and toured in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, The Netherlands and the USA. He is nominated for the 2011 Janne Rosenqvist Memorial Prize, the finest award a Scandinavian blues musician can get!

Samma lea snea blues - Peps Persson

Peps Persson (born 20 December 1946 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish blues and reggae musician from Tjörnarp, Scania. Throughout his career he has mostly made music in Swedish and is well known for his Scanian dialect. At an earlier stage he made a few albums in English.
Persson's career up to 1975 was mostly inspired by the blues, and Peps is known for having reworked many famous blues and reggae tunes into Swedish, by such artists as Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Bob Marley.

After 1975, his career turned away from the blues and focused mostly on reggae. Some of his songs, like "Falsk matematik" and "Hög standard", made a political statement, and were considered part of the progg movement.

Cross Road Blues - Robert Lighthouse

Robert Lighthouse, a native of Sweden, first came to the United States at the age of 18, determined to learn more about the music he loves -- Mississippi Delta Blues.

For eight years he traveled around the country visiting blues Meccas like Chicago's famed Maxwell Street and New Orleans, the cradle of the blues.

He settled in Washington, DC in 1988 and established a cult following as a street musician.

He toured Belgium and Holland with the Charlie Sayles Band and then landed his own steady gig at City Blues Cafe in D.C.
Robert has represented the DC area at the Blues Foundation IBC's twice, once with his band and once as a solo.

His critically acclaimed debut CD, "Drive-Thru Love", was released in 1998.
His long awaited follow up Deep Down in the Mud was released in the summer of 2007 and also has received much critical acclaim.

Robert's simultaneous work on guitar and harmonica on has received rave reviews in major blues publications throughout the United States, Europe and Australia.

Room Next Door - Karin Rudefelt and Doctor Blues

In September 1981 the band performed their first gig in front of a full auditorium – and the success was a fact. Doctor Blues had soon established themselves on the blues-scenes and headlined festivals across the whole of Sweden as well as northern Europe. A milestone of vital importance for the band's history came with the blues-singer Karin Rudefelt's appearance in 1996. With Karin's entrance the vocal part of their music got a new dimension. Consequently, from then on, the band calls themselves "Karin Rudefelt & Doctor Blues". Their first independent full-length album "No Pain No Gain" with own material only, was released in 2003. The album received warm receptions and fine reviews in the American blues-magazine Blues Revue amongst others. Due to the release of their second album "Breakin' the chain" in 2006 the band reached a definite lift. 2008 the band delivered their third album "Magic Brew", with a touché of damp hot Mississippi voodoo feeling, mixed in a boiling pot of widely huddled heavy and rocky blues. The album has rendered a huge response amongst the blues community all over the world. "Karin Rudefelt & Doctor Blues" have toured around northern Europe and Scandinavia, and performed in most places with a blues-profile, like the biggest blues-festivals and most important clubs. The band is regarded as innovators of blues as a genre and they like to experiment and push the boundaries of the blues into new dimensions, yet with both feet deeply rooted in the traditional mould. 2009 the band remodeled the setting with keyboard and a broader bass playing, which has given the band a heavier sound and output. In 2011 the fourth CD "Walk the walk" is released. On this album also backed up by two friends - well known slide guitar player Erja Lyytinen and Brian Kramer. In 2011, Doctor Blues sound is even more dynamic, however rougher than ever. The setting is now guitar, bass and drums "only". The band has always looked upon the blues as a mirror and reflector of it's time, and from that fact booth lyrics and musical influences are connected to today's society and its people. EUROPE unveil new album "Bag of Bones" with guest appearance from Joe Bonamassa

earMUSIC, rock leg of the Hamburg, Germany, based full entertainment company edel, is thrilled to announce the new album of THE Swedish rock supergroup, EUROPE. The long player, set for UK release on Monday 30th April 2012, is entitled Bag of Bones.

The new record was produced by one of the world's most prestigious producers, Kevin Shirley. No stranger to the crème de la crème of iconic rock, Shirley has produced albums for Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa, Black Country Communion, Black Stone Cherry and Journey. Bag of Bones features 11 brand new tracks, including the first single, Not Supposed To Sing The Blues, which will be serviced to radio this Friday, March 2nd and will be released digitally March 9th.

The band recently unveiled the album artwork and now is ready to confirm the track listing of the new album, which is said to be a milestone in Sweden's biggest hard rock band’s long lasting career. Prior to the recordings, when EUROPE front man Joey Tempest confessed, "We're ready to do some serious damage,” - he could not have been anymore correct. Bag of Bones was already titled "one hell of a record" and is the successor of EUROPE's 2009 album Last Look at Eden, which proved to be the band's most important record since The Final Countdown.

Says singer Joey Tempest: "Finally we express ourselves completely without restraint. Straight from heart and soul. It took some time but WE HAVE ARRIVED!"

Contributing slide guitar to the title track Bag of Bones is no one less but currently hottest blues rock name, Joe Bonamassa. "We're honored that Joe Bonamassa wanted to play some slide guitar on our record. We're all big fans of his music", Tempest points out.

The album, which features a more straightforward rock approach including the track Doghouse, already performed during the band's most recent European tour, is going to be available in a standard CD version as well as on classy vinyl.

Screwed Live - Slidin' Slim

I grew up listening to Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino and that might have put the mean R&B in my blood when I was just a small kid. In the late 70..s and early 80..s I discovered Ramones, The Clash, Dead Kennedys and whole Swedish punk scene. I guess I always been something of a misfit so I just fell in love with the whole thing and started my first band as a 12 year old. During the late 80..s I lost it for a while but somewhere around 90/91 I discovered delta blues and Son House, Charlie Patton and Robert Johnson. That was it. Since 1994 my whole focus has been the blues and I've released a number of CD's and toured in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, The Netherlands and USA. During the last couple of years I've been writing fiction (nothing published yet) and working on a spoken word idea.
