St. Clair Pinckney (James Brown)
No doubting that James was a force to be reckoned with but James always had a great backing band. Among the players was St. Clair Pinckney.
Born 1st January 1930, the tenor and baryton Saxophonist St.Clair Pinckney was a member of James Brown's band The J.B.'s and held his position there from start to end of the bands life. He was the oldest of the members and was nicknamed 'Pink' by is fellow musicians. He was easy to spot on the scene when they performed because of his patch of grey hair in front of his head.
'Pink' died due to complication of Emphysema disease 1st February 1999, but will be remembere as the 'Glue' of the JB's that made the band to be what it was.
