Rolled and Tumbled - Rosalie Hill
Rosalie Hill was Blind Sid Hemphill’s guitar playing daughter and was recorded in 1959 by Alan Lomax. At that time it was considered quite dangerous for a woman to play guitar in front of an audience (believed by some to have something to do with the phallic nature of the guitar neck) and Hill herself confessed to Lomax that she did indeed feel ‘funny’ about doing it, despite her obvious skills. If you like what I’m doing, Like ---Bman’s Blues Report--- Facebook Page! I’m looking for great talent and trying to grow the audience for your favorites band! - ”LIKE”
